My first blog!

So, I was told that my website should have something about me on it. There have actually been a few versions of my website already with different photos, layouts and “about me” sections on it. Every time I work on the “about me” section I wonder if I should just write the way I talk or should it be more professional. Should it be in the third person like “Claus was born in Germany, Claus is a talented photographer, Claus is….whatever” and it feels weird to write about myself that way. I take pride in my photography and I take myself seriously but at the same I don’t want to come off arrogant. I think everybody should be able to hear a joke about him and laugh about it. Life is too short to be serious all the time. The good thing about blogs is that most people write the way they talk which makes it a lot easier for me to get this started. Having said that, I thought it would be a good idea to start with a few photos of me. I usually don’t like showing myself because most models I work with look way better than I do and a photographer’s job is being behind the camera and not in front of it. So, let’s get this started and over with...

This is me as a kid. I hardly remember looking like this but I do remember my first alarm clock with built in radio.

This is me in my 20's. I tried a few things with my hair at that time as you can see.

This was my pre-Photoshop attempt to put a face in front of a different background using scissors and a scanner.

This was in 2004 in a hotel in Amsterdam.

This was a year later at the Niagara Falls.

This is me as a surgeon on Halloween!

A vacation photo from Florida. I was quite impressed seeing free, wild alligators for the first time in my life.

Every photographer should have an arty self-portrait, right? Here is mine!

What's more fun than making fun of your friends by photo-shopping big noses on them?!

This is what I look like these days.

I hope you like my first blog, the next blog will not have pictures of me, I promise!
